Meet Daniel M!
Vocational Services Client
Watch the video to the left of Daniel M. playing the piano! Daniel sings and also plays several different instruments, such as the drums and ukulele. Daniel is obviously passionate about music and loves jazz. He spends his free time playing and writing songs. Daniel has had employment with different music schools and even had a gig playing piano for a local theater.
Meet Austin T!
Vocational Services Client
Austin T. has been working at his current job for over two years. He is an Office Technician with the State of California. He is very passionate about teamwork and meeting the challenges of the job every day. Austin has an amazing work ethic! Come rain or shine Austin is in his cubicle ensuring that everything is running smoothly at his office. Meet Mitchell B!
Vocational Services Client
Mitchell B. has been working with his current employer for over one year. Mitchell is a Customer Service Associate/Loader. He helps provide and deliver the right products to customers by safely unloading merchandise from the sales floor into customer’s vehicles. Mitchell is great with customer service and enjoys working with his customers. Mitchell also enjoys working with co-workers and participates in all company functions with his team. Mitchell is also very happy with the support from his Vocational Specialist team at On My Own Community Services; they assisted him with his placement and continue to support him to be successful in his current role.
Meet Robert J!
Vocational Services Client
Robert J. is one very happy hardworking young man. He doesn’t work one job but two jobs! He has a full-time maintenance position with a local company that services a local apartment complex. Robert also works part-time as a Janitor with the El Dorado County School district. Robert states that he loves to work and appreciates the rewards and benefits he receives from his employers. Robert also has networked with his employers and co-workers to make lasting professional relationships.
Meet Todd D!
Vocational Services Client
Todd D. is an active volunteer at the River City Food Bank, where he dedicates his time to helping individuals and families in need within his community. He finds joy and fulfillment in giving back and making a positive impact. With the support of his job coach, Todd works on maintaining productivity and engaging with various community activities to expand his reach and build connections. Outside of his volunteer work, Todd is an enthusiastic fan of the Oregon Ducks, proudly following their games and cheering for their success. His positive attitude and commitment to both his community and his interests make him a well-rounded and inspiring individual.
Meet Nick C!
Vocational Services Client
Nick C. is a dedicated individual that has been working with his current employer since August of 2021. Nick works as a Cashier; he greets customers, rings up purchases, and answers questions about products, services, and merchandise. Nick has even been given the special role as a front end leader! Nick has received several recognitions for being a friendly and positive worker from his coworkers and customers. He states that he is happy with his position and enjoys working at Target.
Meet Traci H!

Traci H. is a dedicated employee at Dogtopia, where her contributions have earned her recognition as a valued team member by her manager. Over time, she has grown significantly, evolving from a shy young woman hesitant to express herself into a confident individual who actively seeks help when needed and communicates effectively with both management and customers. Traci also advocates for herself with assurance, demonstrating her ability to navigate workplace challenges. She is now confident and thrives in her role at Dogtopia.
Meet Vena T!
Vocational Services Client
Vena T. is participating in a paid internship at T4 Folsom, a casual teahouse known for its wide selection of teas, including flavors like honey peach, as well as smoothies and boba. In her role, Vena handles the register, processes customer orders, and provides friendly assistance to patrons. This internship, facilitated by On My Own Community Services, has been instrumental in helping Vena develop and refine her customer service skills, showcasing her growth and dedication in a professional setting.
